Situated on a gently rolling peninsula and surrounded by the shores of Lake Merced in San Francisco's southwestern corner, the majestic, tree-lined layout has played host to prestigious golf events including The Lucky International Professional Golf Championship from 1961-66.
Now, nearly 50 years later, the TOUR has returned to TPC Harding Park with such events as, the 2005 World Golf Championships-American Express Championship, The Presidents Cup in October 2009 and The Charles Schwab Cup Championship in 2010 and 2011. Ranked by Golf Digest as one of the "Best Places to Play," TPC Harding Park continues to be a "must-play" for residents and visitors alike. TPC Harding Park's layout in championship conditions follows the original routing as designed by architect Willie Watson and Sam Whiting in 1925, bringing back its prominence.
The course takes advantage of the property's existing topography, contours and vegetation. The predominant features include the towering Monterey Cypress trees and the nearby presence of Lake Merced. TPC Harding Park has contoured green complexes, and the addition of multiple teeing surfaces provides the course the flexibility to offer distinct playing characteristics that will challenge every golfer, from beginner to the most skilled player.
TPC Harding Park is located less than one mile from the Pacific Ocean, near scenic Skyline Boulevard, the renowned San Francisco Zoo, and is saturated in a golf course mecca, with nearby Olympic Golf Club, Presidio Golf Course, Lincoln Park Golf Club, and Sharp Park in Pacifica—all located within only a few miles.
