Rancho Mirage Golf at Mission Hills
Mission Hills Country Club, known worldwide for its history and tradition, has evolved into a Palm Springs golf club for all seasons with a multigenerational membership. It is the home of the Dinah Shore Tournament Course, rated the No. 1 golf course in Coachella Valley and the site of the first Major in golf every year – The LPGA’s Kraft Nabisco Championship. Mission Hills Country Club offers a unique golf experience, with three very diverse golf courses designed by some of the biggest names in golf course design. All three courses have six tee locations allowing players to play the course at their desired comfort level.
The Arnold Palmer course was designed in 1978 and was his first design in the desert. At 6,834 yards, this course is a Member favorite. Featuring rolling fairways with many doglegs and strategic driving holes, this course while fair will still provide a true challenge to golfers of all skill levels.
The Pete Dye Challenge Course opened in 1988, and at 6,955 yards, this course is a true test of skill. Featuring rolling fairways, elevated greens, classic deep bunkers, as well as Pete Dye’s trademark railroad ties marking the beautiful lakes throughout the course.
Desmond Muirhead designed the Tournament Course in 1970. It has the distinct honor of being rated the No. 1 course in the Coachella Valley for many years and has hosted a Major Championship for more than 40 years. The 18th is a 646-yard par 5 with an island green fronting our expansive clubhouse. The 18th always plays a significant role in determining each year’s champion, including Brittany Lincicome’s eagle in 2009 – the only time in history one of golf’s Majors was won on the final hole with an eagle.
Together, the three courses offer golfers of all abilities the chance to test all aspects of their game. If that wasn’t enough, Mission Hills Members enjoy a practice facility that is the finest in the area with a 17-acre, dual-sided driving range as well as a dedicated 10,000-square-foot chipping green, four putting greens and a multitude of practice bunkers, which make up our short-game area. Mission Hills offers private golf lessons through The Golf Academy at Mission Hills. All aspects of your game will show noticeable improvement after working with our dedicated professional staff.
