The East Course at the Country Club of Birmingham is one of two 18-hole, private courses offered at the facility, the other being the West Course. Although both courses are challenging, the East Course is considered the easier of the two. Over the years the golf course has experienced several changes. Originally designed by Donald Ross, George Cobb remodeled the course in 1964 and in 1990 the course went under even more renovations, this time by John Lafoy. The golf course is situated on relatively flat terrain and there is a creek that runs through the course creating water hazards on seven holes.
